Capella Centre is proud to be part of the Alberta Council of Women's Shelters, a province-wide organization that advocates for women's shelters and the people who use them.
Informed by our many initiatives, action-based research projects and data collection, ACWS develops leading-edge tools for shelters and calls the public to take action against domestic violence. Creating synergies around the globe, we are a founding member of both the global and Canadian networks of women’s shelters.Because we know we are stronger together.
Our Partners & Funders
Together with assistance from local partners we are able to provide the breadth of service needed by those in our community.
We are supported by the Knights of Columbus, a charitable organization that has existed since 1882, which now raises over $177 million USD in donations a year and performs over 75 million hours of service. They operate the Christian Refugee Relief Fund, Disaster Relief, Ultrasound Initiative, and Coats for Kids. They also partner with international charities including Special Olympics, the Global Wheelchair Mission and Habitat for Humanity. To honour them and show our appreciation of their generosity we have named our women’s shelter in St. Paul Columbus House of Hope.
